I am pleased to announce that I will soon be taking a photography class through Stanford Continuing Studies! No, I won’t end up with a degree or certificate from Stanford- though that would be nice. I’m taking it for the experience and the opportunity to receive instruction/feedback from a professional photographer and my peers. The class I’m taking is focused on travel photography but I’m sure I’ll learn a few techniques that will be helpful for all of my photography endeavors. For this class I’ll need to complete a “personal project” and give a presentation during the final class session. I’m excited/nervous at the same time. It’ll be strange being back in a classroom setting…but exciting because the subject is something I’m really interested/invested in (something other than…math, or science for example lol). I have weekly assignments (taking specific photographs) and I’ll be sure to post them on here. First class is April 10th. Stay tuned!
My husband and I went on a little weekend getaway to Monterey Bay for an early birthday celebration for me. I have to say, it’s getting really hard to decide which is our favorite beach town in CA. Every one we’ve visited is kind of awesome. Monterey has a really cool atmosphere and, like most of the CA coast, breathtakingly beautiful views! One of the main attractions in the area is the 17-mile drive. One of the stops along the way is this:
The Lone Cypress. It’s over 200 years old and has become the official symbol of Pebble Beach, CA. This is one my favorite photos from our trip. I’m sure it will end up in a frame hanging on our wall somewhere
Instagram is a wonderful app for the iphone, especially for a photographer who can’t possibly lug around all her camera gear everywhere she goes. I love being able to transform a simple phone-photo with the instagram featured edits. Here are just a few of my recent faves:
This was taken while waiting for my pilates class to start at work. Stanford really does have beautiful buildings!
This one was taken while waiting for my husband to pick me up at the train station.
And this one was taken while riding the train home from work, admiring my beautiful wedding rings
I realized after I took it that I probably should’ve put hand lotion on first…please ignore my dry skin.
